Not everyone is so fortunate

Find out more about the story of a Pri 4 North View Primary School pupil, and how the school helped him to the correct path in Episode 1.
From the eyes of the child
Iris enjoys a good relationship with her son Keith now, but it had not always been the case. When Keith was younger, Iris’ world revolved around her children and family and she focused fully on getting Keith to score good grades. Her high expectations of Keith resulted in a strained relationship and when Keith was in Pri 3 in Hougang Primary School, they even got into a physical conflict.
Iris shares in the first episode how she eventually mended her relationship with her son and how getting more involved in the school’s activities made a difference for her.
Parents as partners
Dr Lim Kam Ming, shares in the TV series his passion for volunteering as Chairperson of the Parents Support Group (PSG) at Xingnan Primary School, where his daughter is a Pri 4 pupil. Dr Lim and his wife saw their daughter benefiting from their involvement in the school activities.
Find out how their involvement in the school made positive contributions not just for their child but to the entire school at large.
Words that go a long way
Supporting your child and partnering schools is not always about being involved in activities in his school. With the eventual intent of enriching your child’s learning experience, even simple encouragements can go a long way in boosting your child’s morale.
“A lot of the time, parents are concerned about their children,” says Ms Leow Choon New, a Chinese Language teacher at Endeavour Primary School. “However, in our Asian culture, most parents choose to keep their feelings inside.”
Find out how Ms Leow uses innovative methods to get parents involved in small ways to boost their children’s morale.
